General Rules
01. As this is just the beginning of HOTM, we would love for this site to be active and consistent, and we need our member's help in making it stay that way. We're not expecting you to log in every single day, but we would appreciate if you logged in at least once or twice a week; posting at least once a week is optimal. If you are going to be on a "Hiatus" of any sort, please message one of the admins, and let us know. We will work out the official bends and kinks of activity checks as the site continues to grow, but for now, cannot guarantee the claim-of-character if a member goes on an extended, unannounced "Hiatus".
02. Please respect all members. The admins here are a pretty relaxed bunch, but we will not tolerate name-calling, sexist comments, or racism of any kind. We've seen enough drama in our time throughout other sites and communities, and we don't want it ruining HOTM. If you've got beef of any sort, please keep it outside of the HOTM. So, you are still reading? Good ~ Here is your first word: The. If you have a legitimate complaint about someone else on HOTM, please refrain from instigating things, and message one of the admins. We will take care of it.
03. Please do not ask the admins to become a staff member or moderator. We decide for ourselves who is capable and trustworthy enough to handle the task, and asking will not get you anywhere. On another note, we are always open to those willing to help with graphics or coding.
04. No nudes or pornography. LOL, we doubt that will be too much of an issue here, but regardless, we will not accept it. "Mature" content is not supported here on Proboards; this extends to all roleplays and conversations viewable to public eye.
05. Once you have become a member of this HOTM, please change your username to something that relates to your character. No "cheerangel95" or "Hibarisgirl_4EVER". Go ahead, get creative; show us what your character's made of.
06. This is stated in the Character List already, but we do reserve characters here at HOTM. If you've got your eye on a character but don't have the time for an application at the moment, just message one of the admins and let them know, and we will reserve that character for you. First come, first serve; you have up to one week to fill out and submit an application. If you do not submit one by then (and do not give the admins an advanced notice if you need another week), then we will reopen the character's spot.
07. You are only allowed to have a limit of four accounts - Two OC's and Two Cannons. If you ever want to drop a character, please inform Emi Katsumi or any of the Admins before you do. If you want to apply for a different character, please wait for approval first.
In-Character Rules
01. No God-modders or Mary Sues. Self-explanatory.
02. As stated above, Mature content is not allowed. It will get us in trouble with the Proboards main site, and we don't want that, do we?
03. One character per account; that means no multi-character accounts. If you have another character, please make a separate account.
04. Grammar and literacy is a must. That means no text talk, unless it's OOC convo, and we expect to see effort from each and every one of you. hello again! Your next word will be: Underground For a typical reply, we expect a length of at least three paragraphs-- that's not too hard, ne? You don't have to be a college literature major, or the most-experienced roleplayer around; just write something that's worth replying to. Effort goes a long way.
05. That being said, a few grammatical errors or typos are expected now and again. If you find one or are dissatisfied with your post, you can go back and edit it. Just click the "Modify" button above your post.
06. When applying for a character, feel free to mess with the coding or colors however you wish. Just nothing too drastic.
07. Again, no Mary or Gary Stus. No exceptions.
08. Please refrain from playing 'favorites' with roleplays. We do not want any of the other members feeling left out of the roleplaying experiences. It's not fair to skip over someones' reply just because you have interest in other ones. If you feel like you can't reply, contact the member and inform them. That way, no one will feel left out. We don't want that, after all.
Rules Regarding Original Characters
01. Please refrain from submitting OCs that have a direct relation to canons. Coming from an admin whose character is in fact related to one may sound a little hypocritical, but we cannot have a dozen "Tsuna's long-lost sister" type-characters running around the site. In fair game, we will only accept such characters whose relation to characters are woven to an intricate and believable extent.
02. We do not accept Mary or Gary Stus. I can not stress this enough.
03. If your character has a direct relation with any of the cannon characters and someone is playing that role, please ask them if they are okay with it first, for the sake of being considerate. For example, if your character is the student of Hibari, you should ask the person roleplaying as him if its okay. Try to avoid direct relations with characters who are not taken unless it is unavoidable. But once that character is taken, talk to them about it.
Icons and Signatures
01. Your icon and signature must relate to your character.
02. This rule may sound super picky, but please do not pick a signature whose measurements are over 430x250px. Aha, last word, but keep on reading anyways: Heroes. It will stretch the sides of the board and mess site-coding up, and we don't really want that.
03. Your icon cannot extend past 100x100px. Although, that's actual Proboards rules.
Apologies for the long read, guys, but it's all part of the necessities. If you would, please, sign that you read below, and Welcome to the Famiglia~
To be certain that you have read the rules, here is one last step. Take all the hidden words and make a sentence with them and put it in the rightful spot. One more thing, make sure the code is in red.
This only applies to new members. Those who have sent an application before this do not have to worry about this - we will give you the benifit of the doubt.
To clear up some misunderstanding, it is no longer required so sign the rules. We will know if you read the rules thoroughly rather then skimmed when we see your application.
