VOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOIII!!!
SO...
don't laugh but...
I had a beta fish
his name was Zydrumas
and he died the other day after I had him for like 4 years. >B| Yeah the shark takes good care of his fishys.
ANYWAY!!!! I am planing on getting another fish. Probably blue and purple again like Zydrumas was. (The links below are pictures of Zydrumas)

I like the crowned Beta fish but I love the smooth lines and elegance of the traditional beta so I'll probably end up with another regular Beta.
Why am I telling you this!?
BECAUSE I HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO TALK ABOUT! It also gets a conversation started.
Personally my favorite pets were a mouse I had named Squeakers (She died at three. Most mice only live for two years) Zydrumas the beta fish, and my cat Wolfgang.
The nice thing about Beta fish is they are so easy to care for. the hardest thing is cleaning the bowl and that's not really all that hard other than you have to chase down the little fish without hurting him.
Here's a bit of trivia for you!
Beta fish are one of the few fish that can breath air. That's why they are able to live in rice fields in the puddles. In captivity they can live in a bowl without filters because they swim to the surface and take a gulp of air.
Goldfish can't do this. It pisses me off when people own goldfish and keep them in a bowl. They are a type of carp! Carp can't survive well in stagnant water. Also Goldfish adapt their size to their surroundings so by keeping them in a small bowl you stunt their growth. Goldfish thrive better in a tank with a filter otherwise they won't live long. They need oxygenated water so you'd either need to change their water VERY frequently or give them a filter. If you threw a goldfish in a lake, provided it didn't get eaten by a predator, it would grow to be a few feet long. If you ever seen a wild carp you would know just how big they can get. Growing up I had grandparents that lived on a lake and every so often a dead carp washed up and them suckers were frigging massive! We have a turtle here at my house and one of the goldfish has grown to be bigger than my hand! He has also lived for a few years now and that's because he has a big tank with a filter.
Yeah... I have all kinds of stupid trivia facts stored in my brain.
Moving on~
Anyone else got some interesting pet tales? <---see wut I did thar? Hur hur hur.

You really like your fish, don't you, Squa-chan? Beta are amazing, I used to have one but my dad decides that it was a pain to feed it and flushed it down the toilet while I was at school. :I I loved him, even though I cannot remember his name anymore. But, I didn't know they can breath air! That's pretty siiiick. Everyone I get fish, they mysteriously die. -coughdadcough.-
I used to have like, a lot of dogs. My favorite was Tina, a border-collie mix. She was old and I had her before I was even born. She ran across the street and my papa said she'd come back, but she never did. :I I really loved her. If it wasn't for her, I would have been mauled by a dalmation.
I was playing hide-n-go-seek with my cousin and was hiding under the table with Tina. My cousin vane aground and stepped on the dalmation's tail and she got mad and chased him. I tried to help and nearly got bit but Tina jumped out to my rescue. Sadly, she lost a piece of her ear. :I

AHHH SQUALO, I HAVE A BETA FISH TOO~ ♥
H..his name is Noodle. He's an albino Half-Moon, and I've only had him since March, but I love him to death. It's kind of funny how I got him, actually. After Parent's Weekend, when our families went home, my roommate told me she was going with our friend to PetSmart to get a beta fish, and asked me if I wanted to tag along. W..well, I didn't particularly think about getting a fish, since finals were coming up soon, and since I would be studying abroad (it would be kind of unfair to leave him with my parents when they didn't pay for one), but there was nothing better to do around campus on a Sunday, so... I went.
And of course, when I went, I guess I was tempted. I saw this cute little Delta tail, that was blue with green, and had red cheeks. And I had picked him up and walked around, looking at the others when I saw one little one floating on the very bottom shelf, on the very back underneath all the rest. It was a pale little thing, and was just laying on its side on the bottom, so I had originally reached for it to take to the PetSmart counter.
"You guys, this fish is dea-" And as soon as I said it, he started moving. He was alive! Very much so! He looked weak and sickly, but he was a very, very pretty fish. And despite there being plenty of others with reds and blues and greens on their fins, I was already attached to him. After jokingly telling my friends I would name him "Cadaver" (oh come on, it's atrociously cute...) we got our bowls, food, gravel and plants, and moved on to the register.
Since then, he's gotten considerably more active and looks so much healthier, and is really, truly beautiful. I'd like to think he's alot happier, too, seeing as he's been making bubble nests lately. O-of course, since then, Noodle and I have had several adventures together, concerning bouts of two snails constantly mating (their names are Dante and Gizmo, incase anyone cares). I'd have to say he's the best $8 I ever spent!
A..and is it just me, or is like, the most adorable thing ever when they "yawn"? ;u;
(Also, I have a dog named Chewie that I got for my 12th birthday. He's a brown and black ShihTzu that looks really ferocious cause of his underbite, but is really just a huge wimp. xD His birthday's coming up soon, if I'm correct... He lives with my parents back at home, since we can only have fish in our dorms, and I miss him to death!)

D'awww what a cute fish! It's colours are beautiful... I have pat cat named Richard which this year'll be 11 (he's a geezer XD). He's a mix between a Persian cat and a Chinchilla. Here's a photo maniac-ani.deviantart.com/gallery/28690720#/d38resa He doesn't like to be photographed much =_= And recently he started eating a lot of weird stuff for some reason. Like butter! (though I try not to give him that XD) He's always eaten ice cream and licked our plated after dinner but now he wants to drink from a cup, damnit! But we still love him <3

I Like my fish? I love them! But yes I do xD THEY ARE! I love them so~ W-What!? That’s so sad! My dad was tormenting my new fish today! He was being rough with him and was holding him up to the mirror and I was like “CUT IT OUT! YOU ARE GONNA STRESS HIM OUT!!!” The car ride was enough for the poor little guy. That’s horrible! Why does he flush them!? I mean if you are the one caring for it what does it matter? I keep my fish in my room so no one minds them.
Awww she sounds like a pretty cool dog. I had a dog once but I was young when she died and I wasn’t really attached to her. I’m sorry to hear about your dog though. =/ ---------- Ahh! You do!? Awwwwwww lol Noodle xD Oooh I saw a bunch of half moons at the pet store today but I was dead set on a normal beta.
HAHA! Beta are awesome like that! For a fish they have great personalities! I love your choice of name xD I’m glad he’s doing well. OMG THE HORNY SNAILS!!!
Anything betas do is adorable!!! XD
I got a new Beta today his name is Alo. He’s blue with some red. His face is kinda grayish but I think it gives him a nice shark like look. There weren’t a lot of fish at the store today and I was looking through and none of them seemed to strike me as my new friend. So I looked around and got other things I needed like a new plant and some new water conditioner then went back to the beta display. Well I took another look at the fish and almost got this one until it flared up it’s gills. I like my betas to be laid back so flaring the gills is a no no. Then I saw Alo he was a gorgeous blue with a little red. His face was grey but as I picked him up he just seemed nice. Something just felt right about him. So I thought to myself “You are Alo and you are coming with me.” xD I like them to be laid back since I heard stories of them jumping out of the bowl and I am scared of that happening. If they are calm and laid back I feel they are less likely to do such things.
Aww sounds like a cute dog! ------------------
Thank you! He was such a beautiful fish. I really miss him. =/ Your cat is cute!!! I like him xD
Our cats eat butter!!!! (my family has 6 cats all together) Shadow drinks from cups also!!!! He drinks my mom’s coffee xD
Is it possible to not love a cat? xD

It's absolutely not possible to hate a cat (or any other pet XD). And now that you mention it there is something like 'chemistry' when you choose a pet. It was the same with my cat-there were like 5 others (3 of them were his siblings) and yet none left such an impression like Richard =^w^=

Exactly. xD Cats are especially funny. They pick who they want not the other way around. Like out of the six cats we have at my house I picked Shadow and Cassie and neither of them pay me any mind but Wolfgang LOVES me xD He's always with me and he's even in my room with me now and was in my lap a minute ago. I didn't want wolfgang out of the litter I wanted Shadow, but Shadow picked my mom and Wolfgang picked me. xD I was the only one who Wanted Shadow and not Wolfgang to. lol

So true! Richard kinds dislikes my dad but would never go against my mom XD And I'm something like a playmate for him. Though he never sleeps in anybody's lap-he doesn't like to be picked up either.

That stinks I hate when cats don;t like being picked up since I like to hold them. Wolfgang tolerates people picking him up and will only sit in my lap when he is in my truck with me or in my room. xD He liked to sleep in my bed though

Haha~ When Richard occupies my bed there's no way you can use it any way...Heck you can't even touch it without being hissed on XD he's kinda territorial and doesn't like other people touching 'his stuff' lol

Pffft I'd never tolerate that. If Wolfgang ever hissed at me I'd probably beat him xD. one of the other cats looked like he wanted to bite me earlier so now I'm annoyed at him. He's unfriendly to begin with so I don't like him. xD
